Dr. Stuart A. Gabriel is on the Board of KB Home. He is also a Finance Professor , the Chair of Arden Realty at the Anderson School of Management UCLA, as well as Director of the Ziman Center of Real Estate at UCLA. He is a director of other large trusts and a consultant to government entities. A typical salary for one board position is $250,000.
As Director of the Ziman Center of Real Estate, this excerpt shows the paradigm or new way of thinking about housing the school is propagating. How ironic that they want to equate housing with health (nothing new really) when their director sits on the board of a company currently being sued for the wrongful death of a child who lived in a KB Home full of toxic mold. It shows not only the hypocrisy of the people who serve on boards of corporations, but the huge disconnect between reality and what is taught at Universities. Excerpt for UCLA website:

Corruption has led our country into the largest inequality gap in history. And the type of dishonesty we find in academia spreads to government and poisons generations of students, and citizens while those at the top, the directors of boards that build shoddy houses that destroy peoples lives, finances, and health, stand on a pulpit and preach what we already know as their own brilliance – totally disconnected from the reality of most of the world.
